Name Tag!!!

Mobsy Photobucketged me!!!

I really don’t like being tagged!

Probably because “I” don’t know any 10 INTERESTING things about “ME”!

The only interesting thing I know is..

Oh, … I know… I get it…

Name Tag!

  1. I wasn’t supposed to be named Sharon Ira! My dad wanted a different name for me, but because he was a dutiful husband… he wrote the name he liked for me at the back of the Birth Registration form and showed it to my mom first before giving it back to the hospital … well my mom didn’t like it, *I don’t know why!* and named me as I am now instead of that gorgeous name dad wanted… DANG!!!
  2. I knew about the name because when I went to college, my mom got my birth certificate out from her safe and entrusted it to me *I was totally dependent to my parents before this, I know LOL* and I saw this name written at the back of it… -- Jeroselle Aize!
  3. I wanted that name sooo badly but as they say, “what’s done is hard to undo” and I didn’t care much when I was younger because the family called me by the nickname CHIC ! an endearment that stuck with the family members until now…
  4. But when I started school, I started to be Sharon Ira and I don’t like it that much then, because in grade school there was always this other Sharon as a classmate, and once, I got scolded by the teacher because in one test paper I lazily put in just Sharon *because my other classmates put in just Eileen or something* and in front of all my classmates she said “and who is this Sharon?!? There are two sharon’s here and someone lazily didn’t put in her other name…!” I so wanted to shout, “well the other did! So I am that, alright! “ But then I was the shy second grader that time and so I just raised my hand and the whole class laughed! DANG!!!
  5. I also hated the name when I was growing up because there was this very famous Pilipino movie star named Sharon Cuneta and whenever I introduced myself, “Hi I’m Sharon…” the answer almost always would be… “Cuneta?” *jeeeeezzzzz!*… but now she married a Philippine senator *who incidentally was my all time crush in college* named Sen. Francis Pangilinan. And so every time someone answers “Cuneta” after I introduce myself, I’d say… “I’m Pangilinan now!” LOL….
  6. In high school nightmares returned because I transferred school and guess what…, there were 3 of us Sharons in the class!!!... But then it all turned out nicely because 2 out of 3 had a second name and so Sharon without the second name got to keep the name SHARON; Sharon Grace gets to be called GRACE and I, for the first time, got to be called IRA!
  7. The name Ira stuck because I wasn’t as shy as I was in grade school and I started to shine *with medals & awards LOL… yeah I know! I’m a nerd! LOL* and so more people knew me and I carried the name with me to the University!
  8. I sooo loved to be called IRA until I was in college and had my 1st Spanish class! I hated my Spanish professor cause he prohibited English during our class period! And so, I was called “IRA” during the class and was called “ANGER” after!!! DANG!!!
  9. Nowadays, I find it helpful that I am called differently by people depending on where and when I met them… So whenever someone called me when I’m shopping or something, and I forgot who they were, I put them in context on what name or how they called me:
    • Chic – family or friends of family
    • Sharon – high school or formal/business family contacts
    • Ira – high school, college, university people, Officemates, boss from former work since it was straight from college…
    • Sharon – also in my present work because it was my aunt who introduced me to this work…
    • Shaira – Multiply contacts…. LOL
  10. Lastly, I am shaira in multiply because Sharon Ira is so long and I want all who knew me by Sharon, Ira or Sharon Ira to know that this is ME!
